Our aim at Somewhere Special is to provide everyone with information to plan and enjoy a visit to the beautiful Yorkshire. Many people think disability equals a wheelchair. You do not have to have wheels to be disabled. Somewhere Special considers the whole spectrum of disabilities or medical needs, with the simple goal of providing everyone with useful information.
Under the heading 'What Makes us Special' is where we have chosen to highlight facilities and services specific to the requirements of people with Disabilities/Special Needs or Medical Conditions.
From personal experience I found frustration in not having these details available when planning a trip to my favourite Restaurant, Hotel or Leisure activity. Where to stay, where to eat, where to go for entertainment, for shopping, for medical, therapeutic help or somewhere peaceful to relax. My site provides all this and more! My aim is to have more Braille Menus available, staff trained in sign language & makaton, more places willing to liquidise meals, more accessible toilets, to make those less able more welcome and more confident to go out and enjoy time with their family
Let´s make Yorkshire Somewhere Special for ALL.

I visited the park this week. a really wonderful place. Amy is really helpful and can talk to you about what would make your child's visit easier. A lovely sensory walk through the woods, which I think would be beautiful in the evening with all the lights and different sounds. Call her if you would like help on visiting the park
